Becoming a mom has been the hardest, most wonderful thing I have ever done. Staying stylish while caring for a little one has also been challenging.
I’ve been a believer in premium denim forever. I truly believe that a great fitting jean is one of the most important pieces in your wardrobe. I’m lucky and can wear jeans everyday for work, so I do! Thus, my wardrobe consists of many, many pairs of jeans. Finding the right pair of jeans can be at times tough, but it’s worth it. That perfect fit is so flattering.
When searching for that perfect pair of jeans, you will have to try on a lot, and often several sizes. I know that I am not always the same size in different brands, or even styles of the same brand. Sometimes two pairs of the same size can fit slightly differently too. But once you find that great pair, or pairs in my case, it’s worth it. A good pair of jeans won’t have to be washed after every wearing either. That’s another great part about premium denim. They shouldn’t be washed all that often, as they shouldn’t be bagging out or getting stretched out after one wear. I typically only wash my jeans every couple weeks!
Before my daughter was born, and even while pregnant, my typical daily outfit included a pair of jeans of some sort - distressed, skinny, moto, or a print, and then a blouse and often a jacket, cardigan, or vest. Usually the blouses and tops I’d wear were often silk, rayon, or a polyester. These materials are tougher to wear with a little one. But it’s been an easy switch, especially for summer. I’ve just traded the blouse for a cotton tee - simple yet still chic. I’m loving this one by Madewell. Very affordable - I got one in black, white, and grey and have been wearing them on repeat all summer.
I also love the graphic tee trend, and still love to layer on a cardi or vest when I can, as well as the perfect jewels.
As my daughter gets older, and as I transition from summer back into the school year, I know I’ll pull out many of those blouses again, but I still love the classic jeans and t-shirt look. It’ll always be my casual style.
